He was the third born child of Everett and Lola (Pierce) Cressy.
He was blessed with eight grandchildren: Aaron, Alyssa, Nichole, Brittany, Taylor, Paetyn, Sean & Adam; also four great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Dante, Liam and Jackson.
Mel had a large extended family in South Dakota, Oregon, and Washington State.
They had four children, raised their family in Lynnwood, Washington. Mel’s career with the Boeing Company in Seattle spanned 34 years.
His knowledge of aviation, leadership, and teaching skills earned him management tenure until he retired in 1991. Mel is remembered as kind, complex, an insightful and thoughtful man yet valued the simple things that matter in life, a man who cared greatly about the people he knew, especially his family.

Eleanor Rohla, age 104, of Carter, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Winner Regional Long Term Care Facility.
